General questions about bacpac and BACP
  1. What involvement has the BACP had in the development of bacpac?
  1. The bacpac project has been a joint venture between BACP and Mayden. BACP have been involved in the project from the outset, and have shared their vast knowledge and expertise throughout the development process. Their involvement has been instrumental in developing a highly functional, intuitive client management system, designed specifically for counsellors and psychotherapists.
 
  1. Can I see bacpac before I sign up?
  1. We are running regular webinars to walk you through the system and what it can offer counsellors and psychotherapists. If you would like to see the software, you can see our timetable of sessions and sign up for a free webinar here. We also offer every user a free trial, so when you sign up to bacpac you can make sure you are completely happy with it before you commit to a subscription.

  1. What are your support hours?
  1. There are many ways that you can get help if you need it. Firstly, always check our comprehensive help site. This includes video ‘how to’ guides as well as answers to all frequently asked questions. If you require more hands-on assistance, then you can email us. Our hours for email support are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
 
  1. What hardware do I need to run bacpac?
  1. bacpac is a web-based system, which means you can access it via PC, Mac and tablets.
 
  1. What browser do I need to use?
  1. bacpac has been specially designed to work on the latest major browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome. It is recommended to run the latest version of your favourite browser when using bacpacbacpac will run on Internet Explorer 8+. Due to incompatibility with our high security standards, bacpac will not run on Safari 6.1 OS Lion. If you have OS Lion, we suggest you download Google Chrome or Firefox.
 
  1. If I decide not to renew my subscription after the first year will I have access to my records?
  1. Of course. If at any point you choose to end your subscription, we will provide you with a file which will contain all of the information that you have entered into bacpac.
Questions about security
  1. How do I know my data is secure?
  1. We take security very seriously, and Mayden has over 10 years experience in storing confidential medical information for NHS services, voluntary services and the private sector. We have been vetted by both the NHS and Ministry of Defence for hosting confidential medical information and we are currently adding a quarter of a million clinical records to our secure databases every month. Your information is safe and secure with us.

Questions about the cost of bacpac and subscription
  1. What do I do at the end of my free trial?
  1. If you are enjoying bacpac, do nothing. Your membership will automatically continue and your subscription cost will be debited from your account. If you do not want to continue with the subscription, cancel your subscription before the end of your trial and you will not be charged.
 
  1. How much does bacpac cost?
  1. The cost of bacpac varies depending on the number of people using the system. If you are a single handed practitioner, the cost will be £180 per annum (or £18 per month). Please contact us for details on the cost of multi-user discounts.
 
  1. How to I cancel my subscription?
  1. You can cancel your subscription yourself by logging into bacpac then go to the My Subscription section under My Account. Or, we will be happy to cancel your subscription for you. Email us via the contact page at least two working days before your trial ends.
 
  1. Are there any additional costs involved on top of the subscription?
  1. No. We want to keep it simple. There are no hidden charges, and no additional costs for our standard software package, you will simply pay your subscription cost.
